BIGGER STEPS

1.—What is the key of this? Play the doh chord.

3.—What is the interval in bar 7 (L.H.)?

4.—Play the one black key in the tune, with its marked finger.

5.—Study the melody and phrasing, then play through.

FIT YOUR FINGERS TO THE CHORD SHAPES

1.—Look at the time-signature. What kind of time is it?

2.—Tap the rhythm as far as first note, bar 4. Attend to forward movement of quavers to the following crotchets: taa taa taté | taa, etc.

3.—Fingering groups fall into shapes as shown by brackets under notes. Study Example 21a. Fit your fingers to the groups and you will see that the other notes lie within these groups.
